Dia De Los Muertos

I went to a Day of the Dead exhibit for one of my classes (extra credit) on Sunday. It was interesting to see the different altars that were up. Other racial groups might not understand, but Latinos/Hispanics are very diverse. Yes I am Latina/Hispanic but I do not share the same background/rituals/cultural practices that other Latin countries have. Day of the Dead is a Mexican cultural tradition that can be compared to All Saints Day here in the states..

Dam-Funk

Friday was my babes 23rd birthday so we went to go see Dam-Funk.
She had such a good time. Dam-Funk really connected with the crowd
and it was good to see him act like a "normal" person. I'm happy she
enjoyed it :]

New Phone..

So I got a new phone I'm excited about. The TMobile MOTOBLUR.. and it takes better pics than my dusty old sidekick.. so I'll def be posting up new posts.. :] stay tuned !!

I know it has been a hot minute since I have posted anything.. let's see. So the summer ended and I am back at school. It is my senior year and I am def. ready to graduate. I'm tryna bust it out though. I am def. on my grind... We'll trying to be :] I think I am doing good so far though.. Wish me luck..

The most exciting thing that has happened was my 21st birthday. I had such a good time. My older sister took me to A.C with a couple of friends, my younger sister, and my girl. It could not have been a better 21st birthday :]

Point Pleasant..

Yesterday we went to the beach.. It was me, my sister, my cousin, my two nephews, and my sister's friends.. We had a lot of fun. The waves were crazy; I kept getting knocked out by them.. lol oh mannn.. can't wait to go back :]]

Summer classes..

I originally wanted to take 4 classes this summer, but I ended up taking two :D lol.. I finished one on the 5th with an A and tomorrow is my last class session for the second course. It's a social research class and I have to write a research proposal.. My research is concentrated on the effect skin tone in the Latino/a community has on income. It is a fact that the white male makes more money than any other group in our society, so I would like to know if Light skinned Latino/a make more money than darker skinned Latino/a. ... Because you know some of us look white and some look black .. lol :)







I want to get this proposal over with!!!

We decided to go to seaside on a random day (Monday).. It was pretty fun though. I know Saturday will be 10x better.

July 4th

July 4th was alright.. It def. could have been better.. We had to wait for my sister to get out of work so we ended getting there a little late. We got there at 9 and the fireworks were scheduled for 9:30; we could not find parking at all. We finally found parking by this dock area which was actually pretty nice.. the fireworks weren't that exciting. The rest of the night was spent walking on the boardwalk then going to the beach at night. The beach was pretty dope because it was dark and the sand was cold.. okay I'll stop my rambling now :]

Today was alright I guess. I went to school to get my refund check, then I went to the bank and after a while of contemplating on whether I should go to class or not, I decided to go home. I wasn't feeling it today. Anyway, I got to Elizabeth and decided to chill at Jess' cribo for a little bit. As soon as I got there I was attacked by her grandpa dog I nicknamed Humpty Dumpty..
He was humping my leg for mad long. I'm kinda traumatized actually.. her dad came to my rescue though.. not for long, but it's the thought that counts. :]

my day didn't end there.. when I got home we took my nephews to see UP in 3D. It was pretty cool :]

Parks and things..

So yesterday was crazy x10. lol all the pics don't even say the whole story.. We started the day by going to the park and talking. Then I semi-forced the besties to come with me to school; all I had to do was take a test so why not?.. After I took my exam we went to Red Robins and grubbed. We were supposed to go over my friends house but Jess and Mariana got the ITIS hard as hell. The food was good hmm.. lol When we got back to Elizabeth, it was a done deal! LMAO geez.
